| Ductile Iron Pipes Packing and Transportation
Types of Ductile Iron Pipes Packing:
If the pipes are ≤DN300, we will use bundles with steel strips, transportation is organized through bulk shipping.
If the pipes are ≥ DN300, there will be no such packing. As for container shipping, we will pack in bulk.
Modes of Ductile Iron Pipes Transportation:
Container (loaded at factory or seaport)
Bulk shipping
1.Container Transportation
Container Transportation is suitable for pipes ≤DN300. Our 5.6-meter ductile iron pipes are designed and produced fit for 20-foot container loading. Of course we can load 6-meter pipes in 40 or 45-foot containers.
The advantages of container transportation lies in that we are more professional in factory loading and these containers are shipped by liner ship so that the clients may get the goods on time and then fasten the installation. It is usually more costly than bulk shipping, which is one of its weaknesses.
2.Bulk Carrier Transportation
For big order or big-sized pipes, we usually arrange shipment by bulk carrier. Pipes are carried to the seaport in trucks and then loaded into bulk carrier at the seaport.
The advantage bulk carrier transportation is that the cost of transportation is lower than that of container shipping. And it is suitable for large quantity and big-sized pipes, however, the shipping time may be unstable. Occationally we were delay late in delivery just because bulk carrier shipment can't achieve on- time ETA or ETD. That can be viewed as its disadvantage.
Packing and Transportation of Ductile Iron Pipe Fittings
Ductile Iron Pipe Fittings Packing:
For D.I fittings ≤DN300, we arrange packing in timber cage or wooden cartons. For those ≥DN300, we arrange packing in wooden pallets.
Ductile Iron Pipe Fittings Transportation:
We transport D.I fittings in container. We choose 20 or 40 feet container depending on the size and specifications of the fittings. If D.I. fittings are transported together with the D.I. pipes, transportation mode will be decided according to those of the pipes.
Rubber Gaskets Packing and Transportation
Rubber Gaskets Packing:
Rubber gaskets are usually packed in plastic bags or paper cartons, and then grouped into wooden boxes, or wooden pallets.
Rubber Gaskets Transportation:
If rubber gaskets are not purchased together with D.I pipes or D.I fittings directly from us, they are transported in 20-foot containers. If rubber gaskets are purchased together with the D.I pipes or D.I fittings, the transportation mode will be decided according to those of pipes or fittings.
D.I .Manhole Covers Packing and Transportation
D.I. Manhole Covers Packing:
D.I. manhole covers are packed in wooden pallets.
D.I. Manhole Covers Transportation:
D.I. manhole covers are transported in 20-foot containers. Sometimes we may arrange bulk carrier shipment according to clients' requirement. |
